Since 1982, Sarah and I have poured our hearts into carving every ring and pendant by hand, right here in Maine.
We promised each other we would never outsource our work to an overseas factory.
But time catches up with all of us. My arthritis has reached a point where I can no longer hold the engraving tools steady, and Sarah's eyesight makes the fine finishing work impossible.
Because we refuse to compromise our integrity, we are making the hardest decision of our lives: we are closing our workshop forever.
We have decided to give away our final inventory rather than sell it to a liquidator. Everything else has already sold out.
The pieces shown below are the very last artifacts of my 42-year career.
Once they are gone, there will never be another piece of Altrua jewelry made.
We personally craft every piece so we know how much effort it takes and how much thought is put into every piece.
